Did not think of Season 5 highly at all at first on admission, actually considered it the weakest season of 'House of Cards' before Season 6 came along. On re-watch, all the episodes of the fifth season have been better than remembered but all have been patchy and the season is still the show's second weakest. but all the episodes have a lot of things that are good. None of the episodes are what one calls irredeemable, it takes a lot in my view to call any episode for any show that.

"Chapter 62" to me is one of the season's better episodes alongside "Chapter 59" up to this point of the season and even overall, found the other episodes above watchable but ranging between average and pretty good. "Chapter 62" is not 'House of Cards' in its prime by all means and is a long way from amazing, but there is a lot that works and overall it is a very good episode if not an incredible one, not like the best of Seasons 1-4 (prime-'House of Cards').

It is a stylishly filmed episode and a fittingly scored one too. Most of the dialogue has characteristic bite and provokes thought, while the story is more suspenseful and more compelling than most of the season's previous episodes without feeling as rushed or cramped. Jane and particularly LeAnn are good support, with good supporting performances from Patricia Clarkson and lovely Neve Campbell.

Scott Campbell is suitably icy as an increasingly interesting Usher. Frank and Claire are as ruthless as ever, though there should have been more of them together. The acting is uniformly good.

To me though, there was still no point to the Claire and Yates plotting, which is also very dull like Yates himself this season.

Petrov was far more interesting and menacing in Season 3, here he is a little cartoonish (through no fault though of Lars Mikkelsen) in a subplot that has yet to properly progress.

Overall though, very good for Season 5. 8/10
