Ghost of Tsushima (2020 Video Game)
9/10
What a way to end the PS4 exclusive run
20 July 2020
After the disappointment of The Last of Us Part II and how it divided fans, my only hope was Ghost of Tsushima to be a promising experience and OH BOY, does it delivered. This was my first time going through a Sucker Punch game and I enjoyed every moment of it. The graphic and visuals are unbelievably stunning to look at, like it has no reason to look this beautiful and almost look like it could be a PS5 title. The environments looks like something out of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a painting and it is shot like it could won an award for Best Cinematography. The gameplay is great and takes time to learn, it does get a bit old sometimes but I do find it satisfying to play. The story is good and I love how it is taken place during the Mongol invasion. The characters are very likable, especially Jin (the main protagonist) who's probably one the most badass video game characters. Sucker Punch really push the PS4 hardware to its limits to make such beautiful masterpiece and I'm glad I got the chance to experience it while this year was filled with decent and disappointment titles and this game is not one of them. I wish the critics could actually see it this way instead of criticizing the game strongly with small nitpicks just make The Last of Us Part II be the top game of 2020. Yeah, this game does have few bugs issues but it didn't ruined the game for me. This game wasn't trying to be anything new, but tries to be its own thing. I'm happy to say that this is the first game of 2020 I hope it wins Game of the Year and if you want to spend money on a beautiful action-adventure game with good storytelling and not make you feel miserable and depressed through a game about hate, this is for you. What a way to go.
