Having read a lot of the reviews, the only thing I can add is to say Jeff Wayne's musical version is the best version by far, in fact brilliant. Whereas the original is now dated and low tech, Spielberg's was just plain rubbish and this is so boring and bears no resemblance to the book whatsoever, so why call it War of the Worlds. An adaptation still has to have some recognisable reference to the original. Cheers
