I watched The Raid last night and although it was quite impressive for a number of reasons, I didnt care for it and found my attention drifting towards the end.
Maybe i just wasn't in the mood for it at the moment, I dunno. I think I just need more connection to the characters so that I actually care what happens to them and the raid had zero character development. I wasn't invested in the story at all, didnt care who lived or died and was generally indifferent.
But, it was definitely an impressive display of cinematography, realisticly choreographed (I suppose), interestingly brutal and overall unique enough to stand out as something worth watching when you're in the mood for artfully filmed intense violent action. In consideration of those merits I award it a 70%
