Review of The Cockateer

The Cockateer (1991 Video)
Poorly made Batman ripoff
14 August 2020
Title rips off Disney's less-than-successful "The Rocketeer" and its source comic book by Dave Stevens, but the actual intellectual theft here by director/cameraman Scotty Fox and untalented screenwriter Cash Markman is the carbon-copy steals from the classic Adam West "Batman" tv series of 25 years prior.

Nonexistent SPFX for Buck Adams flying in his stupid-looking silver costume in the title role, cheap sets, lousy dialog and incompetent overacting by the entire cast somehow won Scotty an industry award.

Between a large number of sex scenes featuring busty femmes Alexis Devell, Madison as the baddie and Bianca Trump, plus a pre-boob job Mimi Miyagi we have the Batman visual steals. Notably imitative is ineptly played Screwball by T.T. Boy in imitation of Cesar Romero's tv Joker, plus henchmen including Jake Steed. Fox even botches minimal fight scenes with the replication of Pop Art "Splat!" comic book effects.

It adds up to embarrassing, relentlessly infantile "Adult" entertainment, with the usual 1990s splitting into two parts with "to be continued" nonending.
