Interesting ideas and efforts

An upstairs neighbour comes with an offer to his downstairs neighbour - he wants the sound of her orgasm in a Tupperware box, and in return she can have some of his own sounds he has captured in a box.

This is a very clever little film, that tkes an unusual concept and uses it in the telling of lives and people. For me it is smell that mostly triggers unconscious memories and connections, but as much as I love sound as an aspect of experiencing a film etc, it isn't in the space shown in the film. I have no idea why this is the case, and I liked that the film committed to it without question. It not only has this concept which seems both foreign but yet so obvious, it does it in a smart and unusual way, with the idea of capturing sound in plastic boxes. At the same time as all of this oddity and fantasy, we have two people, living their lives the best they can and finding pain and connections.

The two actors do well to focus on their characters, and play the rest as if it is perfectly natural; this gives the film its foundation. I'm not sure it wholly pulls it off as a whole, but all the elements come together and satisfy as they work, so it is a film worth seeing for its ideas, delivery, and efforts.
