Floor Is Lava (2020– )
2/10
Cool concept, terrible execution.

Warning: Spoilers
The concept is cool (2 stars for it) but the execution is terrible.

The narrator is terrible, most of the contestants are annoying, particularly the adults, and it gets so repetitive and boring so fast.

I don't normally do reviews on this site but I think this show has room for improvement so here are my thoughts.

I think this show could be way better with just kids/teenagers and members of their family as contestants, like the first ones on the first episode. Watching full grown adults acting and talking like kids is super cringy.

Also, the obstacle courses are not hard compared to other similar TV shows like Wipeout, so I think that having adults competing against kids is unfair and not fun.

I also found so many contestants so annoying. Their interviews are absolutely terrible, I skipped most of them and I stopped watching on episode 3, that's how insufferable it was.

I think the worst of this show is the narrator, hands down. He not only has a very annoying voice, he always says the obvious and when he tries to be funny, he fails, he can also be very offensive to the contestants.

I really dislike how he kept saying that the students feared their female teacher on episode 2, it was very rude and very sexist on top of not being funny at all, and he repeated the same "joke" at least 3 times, so lame.

Please Netflix, throw that guy into the lava if you are planing to do a second season.

Also, what's up with that intro? It is so long and the exposition is so unnecessary.

Like I said, the obstacle courses are not hard or intricated, you don't need to spend 5 minutes on every episode explaining every detail.

Also, you can see a lot of falls and exits in the intro that are obviously spoilers.

I have no idea if it gets better after episode 3, I had to stop because the cringe was overwhelming.
