Looks like these wannabe thieves picked the wrong family to mess with

Warning: Spoilers
A motley assortment of people come together as unlikely accomplices in a bold plot to hold a wealthy banker and his family hostage as a means of acquiring a huge amount of cash. However, the rich family turn out to be something more than they appear to be.

Writers/directors Paul Bushe and Brian O'Neill offer a super cool and clever blend of horror and crime thriller elements, keep the absorbing story zipping along at a brisk pace, build plenty of tension, deliver a satisfying serving of splatter, and even toss in some kinky interspecies sex for spicy good measure. Moreover, Bushe and O'Neill deserve extra props for the underlying relevant message about how there is no such thing as a victimless crime.

The sound acting by the sturdy cast keeps this picture humming: Sue Walsh as the feisty Amanda, Jeff Doyle as the desperate Rick, Johnny Elliott as the scruffy Jack, Andrew Murray as the levelheaded Philip, Sam Lucas Smith as the eager Sam, Saoirse Long as brash teen Claire, Sinead O'Riodan as the composed Sarah, and Tom Naughten as little boy Carl. Both Jerome Leroy's rattling score and Philip Graham's crisp widescreen cinematography are up to par. A cracking good film.
