Review of The Bonfire of Destiny

I'm really liking this series about a moment in history I never knew about. However, I am constantly distracted by the dense, idiotic nature of the Adriene character. I'm not sure what she expected faking her own death and then trapseing around Paris trying to sell her jewels and meet up with her daughter, all with brilliant red hair! Did you seriously think your husband wouldn't find out you were alive or that no one would notice you? And why not color your hair something different? That's your defining characteristic that everyone notices. This is Paris after all. Anyway, good series except for this one poorly written and distracting character.
