Clumbsey editing leads to disjointed episode
1 September 2020
After a strong start to the series with its pilot, this episode unfortunately fails to keep up the momentum. Where as the first episode took it's time to build atmosphere and characters, while hinting at greater mysteries, this episode feels like it is rushing to get to the next story line, raising story beats and then immediately solving them, saping all tension and only raising further questions. There are some strange editing decisions here and overall it felt like this story could have used another episode to really build tension before it's climax. There are entire bridging conversations missing and characters seem to inexplicably change motivations, make irrational decisions or develop incredible insight without any explination, to simply move the plot forward. Teleportation is also an issue, with characters suddenly appearing in locations with no real explination as to how they got there. The show deserves to take its time and I think the disjointed nature of this episode is a product of clumsey editing rather than acting or its production value.
