interesting of its time

A secret vigilante society is meeting to determine the fate of a wealthy businessman, "The Man Who Has Lived Too Long". Lilith (Leatrice Joy) is the sole member missing from the meeting. A love triangle has developed between her and two other members; Forrest (John Bowers) and Farallone (Lon Chaney).

This starts with a great setup. I want the murder and mayhem this group seems to suggest but the movie dabbles in a lot of romantic melodrama. It doesn't help that silent movies have that melodramatic acting style. Both Leatrice and Lon are experts in that type of acting. Lon has an amazing face which helps to elevate him. It's an intriguing premise although the time of this type of anarchist groups is mostly forgotten. It's an interesting movie of its time.
