Warning: Spoilers
It starts with Macs father nearly killed by a bomb, the perpetrator identified as Mason, who Mac and his dad track down to a forest location. However a bomb is dropped on the car which has to be defused remotely. They are then captured by Mason and taken to his cabin in the woods. Whilst there he denies he set any bomb and suddenly the cabin is attacked by people with automatic weapons. Whilst all this is going on, the CIA lockdown Phoenix and question Matty about something called "File 47". Russ calls the Secretary of Defence to complain but the Secretary does nothing. Back with Mac and his Dad, they escape through a tunnel but are captured by the gunmen/women. They turn out to be from CODEX which was created by the sister of Mac's mother aka his Aunt. She explains CODEX was created after the CIA killed all the other people involved with trying to reduce global warming, which is what CODEX is about. However the method would involve a lot of human casualties. She attempts to recruit Mac, but he, his father and Mason manage to escape with Mac's father dying in destroying part of the CODEX building. The Aunt arranges for the rest of the building to be destroyed. Meanwhile back at the centre the team manage to over power the CIA, find out they knew all about File 47, and kick them out of the building.

Now the problems with the episode. Mason never set up the original bomb nor the bomb dropped on the car and when the cabin is attacked all the occupants could have been killed, which would have stopped the Aunt in trying to recruit Mac stone dead (pun intended). So twice Mac could have been killed even though the Aunt felt he was necessary for her plans. Also once Russ had contacted the Secretary of Defence about the CIA in the centre, the CIA should have been ordered out as they are not (supposedly) allowed to operate inside the USA, and the FBI brought in. And why name a (criminal) organisation over as a book, which is what CODEX means.

The episode didn't also have enough of Tristin Mays, which is the main reason for watching the programme. But it did have a bit which is why I gave it 2 stars.
