Aapla Manus (2018)

Unusual movie but degrading to women

Warning: Spoilers
The movie carries suspense within a realistic setting and the viewer keeps wondering who did the crime. I don't understand Marathi but I enjoyed the acting and different angle taken to solve the 'crime'. But what REALLY REALLY annoyed me was the portrayal of the son and the daughter in law - they were made to look like a villain by the father in law and also the filmmakers. He complains when she comes home late. The woman is trying to have a career - what's wrong about that? He makes her look bad in front of neighbours and even in her small child's mind. He tries to stir up trouble between his son and her. He was evil. Despite all his spiteful allegations, she took care of him and gave him his injections. I'm surprised she hadn't left the home. She didnt want the old man to suffer. The son was stuck in the middle, he cared for both father and son. Yet the filmmakers make him look bad too!! Not fair.
