Like almost all shows, around season 4/5/6, cracks appear and are obvious...it just depends if they attempt to keep the cracks at bay, or just say forget it...we can't control it. Just let it go.
It was probably this episode where the show jumps the shark, for lack of anything else. The tired old cut and paste is there...same funny gay, drunk, bad mom, blah blah blah stuff that was funny for a few seasons, and now is just essentially the same episode over and over and over again.
I don't know if I laughed or smiled once in this episode. A very dead episode. Just filler
