Although the film obviously has a lower budget than most larger studio releases, my kids were thoroughly entertained! In my book, that's all you can ask for! The acting from the adults was sub-bar (kids were pretty good considering the cheesy script they had to work with), the plot predictable, the script and special effects were better in most Netflix tv series, but again kids were laughing all through the film and immediately asked if there was a 2nd Adventures of Rufus film to watch, as soon as the credits started rolling. My kids called it a mashup of Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Puss & Boots, and the Princess Bride.
