This movie is loved by many, hated by others, because they expect something complex, but it is literally about a possessed doll! How complex do you expect it to be!? It is great fun even for a first horror movie to watch with your son, it has suspense, some violence... what more do you want from a horror movie. Also, if this was released today, it would be rated PG-13
It is a really fun silly movie, but actually done good.
