This movie was so poorly done I find it hard to believe the good reviews here aren't fake. With the exception of a 30 second scene with the fantastic actress Zazie Beetz, and the actors that play the parents, the acting was hideous. The cops were uncomfortable to watch and not because of how they treated the family and the suspects, though that was difficult for another reason, but because their acting was beyond horrible.
Then there's the story line. On the face of it it's an interesting story. But somehow the director (and maybe the writers?) go and F it up royally. It jumps around. Virtually zero investigation and without warning, they somehow they find the girl. Tied up in the basement she's alive after 6 weeks? How is that possible? Was someone giving her water and food??? Who knows. Nothing is explained.
