Review of Camille

Red Dwarf: Camille (1991)
Season 4, Episode 1
7/10
Enjoyable episode with plenty of pop culture tributes

The crew encounter Camile a being who appears different to all who see her.

I enjoyed this one for the general banter, pop culture tributes and the superb joke involving the Cat.

The plot is a cross between the Star Trek episode The Man Trap and a spoof of the movie Casablanca. Grant and Naylor write a fitting tribute to the above and throw in multiple references to movies, stars and TV shows.

My favourite part without a doubt is the when the Cat meets Camille and sees the appearance designed to please him. This is both hilarious and a great way of summing up Danny-John Jules' character.

Performances of all are excellent as always, particularly Robert Llewelyn who has most of the episode's focus.
