Tatort: Dunkle Zeit (2017)
Season 1, Episode 1,039
6/10
Inspector Falke - Dark Time
13 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After threats, apparently from far left activists, are directed at the leadership of a right wing party Falke and Grosz are detailed to provide protection. Falke isn't happy with the task; he suspects the threats aren't real and finds the party's politics objectionable. When the party leader's husband is killed by a car bomb it looks as if the threats were very real. The investigation initially centres on the left wing agitators but the possibility that others within the party may have motives soon emerges.

This was a decent enough episode; while the identity of the killer isn't obvious it hardly comes as a surprise that they have objectionable views... it would be refreshing if occasionally people whose views most sensible people disagree with didn't turn out to be the culprits. That said there were some exciting moments and a good level of tension. The cast is solid; notably series leads Wotan Wilke Möhring and Franziska Weisz as Falke and Grosz and guest star Anja Kling as party leader Nina Schramm. Overall not the best episode in the series but solid enough.
