Lunar New Year celebration
2 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first Lunar New Year movie I've watched. It's generally a celebration of Hong Kong life and Hong Kongers in particular, told through a comedic storyline that looks at class division and involves plenty of fish-out-of-water comedy to boot. The ensemble cast, spearheaded by Sandra Ng and Tony Leung, do a good job of selling the story and an endless stream of cameos adds to the fun. The humour is very localised which can be off-putting for western viewers, but I find the aspects of local culture explored here to be quite engrossing.
