The Greek cinema is full of movies like this. To the point it's saturated
I was hoping to see something different and unique. It was made in 2020 after all. For the last 10 years (if not more) the "good recipe" of movie is the same. Beautiful-famous actors>love drama>safe choices>based on other movies. It wasn't even an original movie. (I think it was based on a Turkish movie and I highly doubt it if the remake was better than the original).
Well look, someone might think I'm too harsh. Might say "hey you live in Greece, Greek movies are like this. You don't live in Hollywood".
True. But if we want to get better and see better productions, we have to look up to better movies and eventually compare ourselves to them.
Yes I compared it (leniently) to an average foreign movie and I gave it 4 stars. If I didn't it would be easily 7-7,5.
I wish I saw new scripts, new faces, "fresh blood" and better overall productions.
