Solid passable drama

Warning: Spoilers
Baked in Brooklyn is a solid film which is slightly more so a drama and romance film than it is a stoner or comedy film. The humor is relatively low string and not laugh out loud funny or anything too clever in gags.

The lead character is the typical fast talking, smart nerd type. Sort of like the typical Jesse Eisenberg character. Alexandra Daddario plays his girlfriend and seemingly falls for him because she found him sort of funny and was nice. He seemed to fall for her because of her looks and the fact that she was even giving him the time of day. Somewhat shallow in a sense but she did seem relatively nice in personality.

Her character is essentially underused in that we don't get to know much about her, and as the film progresses we start to wonder why she even likes him and stayed with him. As his business started getting better, it meant he spent less time with her, and we could see that the end was coming. Of course in the end he messed up by missing their planned date, ultimately leading her breaking up with him then moving away.

The story although was predictable isn't too bad and seem like it could have been better given better writing and perhaps more intrigued. Ultimately the film is better than initially expected and isn't too long, which is passable for an afternoon watch.
