Did you know that some Arkansas natives repeated viewings of this film to unearth the complex subplots, symbolism, and even prophecies that have resulted in the establishment of their own religion; with many members even wearing fake hog noses in public? Though most of the "Hog Pound" members seem unkempt and uneducated at first glance, their knowledge of this film is unsurpassed. Their chants to "Call the hogs" can be heard echoing across the ozark mountains every fall; usually loudest at the beginning of the season, and petering out after only a few weeks. It is believed that many members of the cult are quickly able to see the falsities and shortcomings of the religion after only a short time in its peak season, and the group is forced to again change course to their recruiting and brainwashing phase in order to prepare for their next season of pigskinning.
