I guess the other reviewers are too young to remember Anthony Franciosa who was quite a heart-throb back in the 60's so when I saw him i had this in mind and not only was he a ladies favourite he was extremely well spoken and gentlemanly as many Italians were at the time.
Yes the acting is not stellar and yes a lot of other things may not have been quite right but its the twist in the Tale that is important and I did not expect it at all and so it worked as a Tale Of The Unexpected and that is what I review it as remembering many of them from my youth it takes me back to a time where overt sex, foul language, extreme violence were not the trend and where you could actually hear people speak proper enunciated English and not the Jungle English we hear today so for us old fans it takes us back to better times watching these favourites from our youth!
