Warning: Spoilers
Silence of the Lambs is, in my opinion, the best movie ever made. I was extremely excited for this show, however I managed my expectations. This episode was pretty much what I expected.

The lead actress is amazing. And I'm sure the supporting cast will prove their worth as the season goes on.

The problem comes in the writing. Early in the episode, bodies are discovered. A new serial killer may be terrorizing Washington. However, it is revealed that the murders are made to look like serial killings to cover up a companies dealings with whistleblowers.

From a writing stand point, this makes no sense. Clarice Starling is not a detective. She is not a hard core investigator. She works in Behavioural Sciences. She studies the mind of a killer. Why would they have it be the work of a company? In this way, Clarice is essentially useless.
