Lupin (2021– )
6/10
enjoyable but beyond silly.

Warning: Spoilers
Normally i have little time for shows with plot holes but this was enjoyable. You have to suspend all disbelief which gets harder every episode. In its favour are it moves along fast and is very slick, there is a lot of sleight of hand, pick pocketing and computer hacking which seems to be compulsory any of this type of gentleman robber modern crime drama. The holes in the plot kind of spoil it and by episode 5 i began to wonder how much more i could take. The cops in it are so stupid its comical and they don't follow any kind of normal police procedure. They let Lupin go at the scene of the robbery after about 5 minutes. Lupin pretends to be someone else to get into prison (no one notices) then deliberately gets violently stabbed in the kidneys so he can get into the prison hospital (recovers after a day), then stages a fake hanging so he can escape prison (nobody tries to find him). The journalist had a incriminating tape which she mysteriously didn't report herself and lupin didn't bother making a copy of (silly). The last episode where the bad guy is arrested with a gun and a diamond from the robbery but is released straight away because he had a licence for the gun and said the diamond was planted really was the stupid most unrealistic thing i have ever seen in a TV drama. I think because it was set in Paris i let the nonsense go where as if it had been UK or American made i would have turned off.
