The Stamm family invites various guests to a party to celebrate daughter Bernice getting married to Monty Montague. When Monty disappears in a natural rock pool in the backyard, the D.A. and his team comes to investigate. Philo Vance is one of the investigators and everybody is a suspect. There is the legend of a dragon in the pool. When they drain the pool, they find dragon tracks on the bottom but no body.
It's a fine little mystery with a fun little twist. It's a little silly that these investigators get sidetracked by the tracks. I guess it's meant to be fun. Otherwise, it's a standard whodunnit and there is an obvious solution. At least, it's an obvious solution to me and a better one than the eventual resolution. I've never seen diving suits like that.
