Well, looking at the overall ratings, you either loved it or hated it. IMO, this ep was a complete fail on the writers' behalf -- they just went too far and simply failed with the script and direction. It was too obvious in its attempt to me-too cover current, hot inclusionary topics. It was just bad, super preachy, writing. You can tell from the reviews that this topic is delicate at best and has some seriously polarized viewpoints. People are either tired of the trope or just cannot get enough. Not much grey area. And the "helpful" tallies express that same battle. Easily skip this episode if you just want good medical drama.
