Silver-haired Jeff Chandler stars in another Universal western, a typical cavalry vs Indians film, however there are couple of twists such as the Seminole Indians hired to quell a Kiowa raiding party, and they do a good job. Chandler does a fine as the liberal-minded officer who clashes with his commanding officer ( John McIntyre) and is in love with widow Maureen O' Hara, and would like to marry her, but she isn't sure. And that problem gets worse when she learns that her late husband is actually alive and leading a Kiowa raiding party. There's some intelligent dialogue, some drama that adds to the lively action scenes where the Kiowa fall off their horses in a Wild West circus-style. The finale ends with a typical fort attack and it's nail biting.
