This is perhaps the first bengali rom-com where the Manic-Pixie-Dream-Girl trope has been given a character of flesh-and-blood like Summer of 500DoS. The backdrop being a Portuguese/Dutch colony of Chandernagore may also be a tribute to Vicky-Christina-Barcelona which matches with the nuances of the central characters in this movie thematically.
