I'm european and I'm white, and I rarely felt this everyday shadow hanging over POC in the US so intense. It wasn't portrayed stereotypical, the doctor wasn't beaten, it was this anxiety that was portrayed perfectly. The last episode of Grey's that touched me so strongly was when this abused woman walked through the corridor, flanked by all the female characters. I know that stupid & ignorant white people don't like this episode, because they want to escape, they just want a good medical soap opera. But this is what makes this series so extraordinary, it has so much reality & truth in the stories they tell. I'm glad the producers don't give in to that crap and tell these important stories of everyday life.
