2019 Nezha was amazing, this was okay

Warning: Spoilers
We saw 2019 Nezha when it came out. It was beautifully written. But it set us up with very high expectations for future releases.

When we saw this has come out, we were so excited. The dynamic between Nezha and his nemesis was one of our favorite aspects of the original. We knew it was going to be of dynamic proportions. But there was also a divide between how you feel for each of the opposing forces. You side with both of them.

That wasn't the case this time. Not only so, but he had a very uneventful and anticlimactic scene. It was very upsetting.

The ending was so rushed and lacked any powerful moments. The scene where he is supposed to hear his father say how much he loved and cared for him...it didn't even make a dent emotionally.

What was this team doing when they made this film?

There were so many beautifully drawn characters. Captivating...and then they were gone. That was so strange.

It honestly feels that this film is trying to begin a franchise by forcing colorful images and great looking characters to the audience. It was very disappointing.

And there's after credit scenes with other films they plan on releasing. It just feels that they didn't do justice to the legend. Whereas 2019 made us hate and love virtually all characters...this one just had us upset with them all.
