It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!
21 April 2021
When the story begins, a rich man (Ernest Truex) goes to a jewelry store to buy his VERY temperamental young wife some jewelry. He finds a large black pearl to his liking and buys it for her....though the woman turns out to be truly awful and pouts because she doesn't want one but a matched pair! So, he instructs the jeweler to pay anything...just get him a matching pearl. But there's a problem...the jeweler cheated the man who sold him the pearl in the first place....and the man isn't exactly thrilled with working with the jeweler again. And, if he ever does agree, it will cost a fortune!

While I could predict the twist with this one, the jeweler is such a jerk that when it comes, it's VERY satisfying. Well worth seeing...and a great comeuppance!
