Might be a future cult classic.

You Might Be the Killer stars a bunch of your favorite horror TV actors in what amounts to both an homage and a send up of the slasher movie genre. We first meet Fran Kranz as protagonist Sam when he's running for his life in a classic camp counselor slasher scenario. Desperate for help, he calls his friend Chuck (Alyson Hanigan), a horror movie aficionado who works in a DVD rental store. The movie then proceeds to make fun of every slasher genre trope, from the reasons why the counselors can't call the police or leave the compound, to the wooden acting of the cannon fodder characters, to the creepy backstory behind the masked killer and why he stalks the camp, to even the ill-advised shenanigans that lead up to the killer's release from supernatural purgatory. However, the movie's pacing is a nonlinear style more typical of modern horror. There's also a hilarious running gag of a visual body-count. Basically, Sam has to come around to the idea that he might, in fact, be the masked killer, and then decide what to do from there with Chuck's long distance assistance. There's a subverted twist on the Final Girl trope that's one for the ages, and then a surprise final scene that had me chuckling. The gore effects are cheesy good. If you're looking for a traditional old school slasher, there are a few out there, but this is more of a spoof. If you're up for a spoof, definitely check this one out.
