Confused about the reviews here - this is a refreshing take on the period drama

Warning: Spoilers
So apparently people have a problem with hearing modern music in a period setting, which is understandable if the series was trying to be serious. This is clearly a campy, fun, light-hearted take on being a young woman in those years. This is over the top for a reason.

I very much enjoyed it. I loved the sharp cuts, the jump from thoughts to scenes but most of all I loved the relationship between Linda and Fanny. I read the book many many years ago. I've known girls like Linda in my life, who fall in love with the "idea" of a person, and out of love by the weekend and in love the next week with someone else. I've also known girls like Fanny, who rather WATCH the excitement and be around it than be in it.

I loved the energy of this series. The only reason I'm giving it an 8 and not higher is because it could have dug deeper. But this is just the first episode, so maybe they will. I really wanted to know why exactly did Linda marry him, how did it happen? Instead of her just saying it did. I really thought she just said that to annoy her dad - turns out it was real! This could also be because Fanny is the one telling the story, so we might miss things here and there - we'll see.

I can't wait to watch the rest. Loved all the cast, the costumes and settings.
