So aspects of the show were ok. I can I've credit where it's due but no way people should be giving this a 10, or even more than a 6 at it's best. And that's just on the writing of story, dialogue and the acting. Are we really so unsophisticated in our analysis of entertainment that this is a 10? Sad. The undercover op was a bit lacking in credibility but it was ok. The new love interest for Nolan who comes in as a neighbors house sitter is a really bad storyline and she is a terrible actress. There is Zero chemistry for them as a couple, and Nathan Fillion looks like he is trying hard to force the appearance of attraction. John Nolan's professor Fiona Ryan is also not believable and is just a self righteous, condescending political infusion into the storyline. The actress is either very uncomfortable with her role, or just not very good. And for the clincher. They catch what they claim is a powerful ruthless drug lord from Guatemala with henchmen armed to the teeth, and they transport her with ONE van and only TWO officers? Knowing she has hundreds of armed thugs at her disposal? Really? Who is the rookie here? The chief of police, the entire FBI, the DEA and the DA? I don't think even John Nolan or the guy who shot his own gun at the morning meeting in a past episode would do that. Not a well thought out script, and please just stop trying to make this a political message about revamping policing in this country. We know it sucks. If you want to include racism and corruption you need to write it better. It is not believable and the actors all look uncomfortable trying to make it look natural. Just write a good cop show and introduce the corruption naturally instead of trying to force it.
