Raised by Parents who were educators, civil rights leaders and ministers in an upper class society I witnessed each character in real life. People who suffered svr racism and wanted to become equal with families who never taught their children nor encouraged they system to change but maintain fences that still inflict boundaries today. Black Girls forced into white schools with a majority of teachers and peers that literally followed the teaching of their parents and a system of fences that limited character, education, growth and acceptance. Black boys, forced to choose self hate or separate and no matter their choice.. they will be guilty of selling out or called weak or guilty of self love and considered a threat. I was to light brown girl to be trusted by black girls and to coffee to be treated equally by white girls. These fences remain with me, regardless of my education. I am kept, limited fenced in, reminded that regardless of how my passion supports the mission of my work, established by white people, that I am still a black woman and will never be paid the same nor given credit for ideas set into motion by white counterparts. So I have chosen to just live for God in Jesus Name, constantly pray for all, while hoping for better until a New Jerusalem.
