Review of Tank 432

Tank 432 (2015)
8/10
Widely misunderstood movie

Warning: Spoilers
To appreciate this movie one has to, at first, realize that these solders are under the influence of some hallucinogenic drug. It was common practice during the 60's & 70's (especially at Porton Down) to dose up soldiers with LSD & other drugs to see how they or potentially, the enemy, performed under the influence. This why a) The acting appears to be bad; have you ever seen an actor on acid? B) They appear to have no direction c) They shout, using the "F" word so much; frustration at not being "in control" is very common d) They think the APC is locked e) They think nothing of defecating inside the vehicle e) The "monster" is an hallucination of an MOD personnel.wearing a gas mask & finally why the MOD in white suits torch the evidence (and they are not agitated or scared because it is not a war situation, just a training exercise). All of the other criticisms like who are "the prisoners" in orange & why was the girl in the container, the over emphasized burning cigarette etc. Etc. Are answered by this central facet: (Soldiers on an exercise, however meaningless;(I was forced to crawl through the dark on Dartmoor..why?) but tripping. Very recognizable) For those who question the title, APC 432 doesn't quite have the same ring as Tank 432. Maybe Soldiers on Acid would have worked? I thoroughly enjoyed it.:)
