A Deeper Romance
7 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When you have a conversation and talk about Ryan Gosling in a romantic movie you will usually here about "The Notebook." While "The Notebook" is a good movie, many people may never have heard of this film: " Lars and the Real Girl". This is a film you have to see for yourself. If you try explaining it you may end up saying "It's a film about a man that loves a doll" but it is so much more than that. There is a romance in this film. Gosling's character Lars has an innocence's to him that can draw viewers in. Everyone in the town, even though many think it strange, support Lars and Bianca's relationship in their own ways. The Fact he can bring the town together reminded me of the character George Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life." In Lars's case his transformation hints at finding true love with Margo. You get glimpses that they may like each other early on but it takes loving Bianca for Lars to build the courage and confidence to speak to Margo. Although the film doesn't say Lars and Margo live happily ever after we as an audience can choose their fate. In my opinion with everything these characters experience during the film their relationship will last because their love is genuine.
