Van Helsing: Christ Pose (2018)
Season 3, Episode 12

Anti-Christian BS

I guess somebody in the cast or production staff needed to get their Union cards approved, so Missy Peregrym gets to spend an episode of this crud taking shots at Jesus Christ. Maybe this episode is what got Dick Wolf to give her a spot as the liberal agent on the (anti) FBI TV series?

Jeff Kober is the suspected Messiah, as he walks around nonchalantly among the daywalkers and ferals. Kober usually plays evil villains, but this time he is the Man of Peace among the vamps.

Why put this nonsense story into Van Helsing? It is a gratuitous opportunity to slam Christianity, and I wonder why these brave folks never do a shot at the Muslim or Jewish religions?

I honestly felt like Missy Pergrym's in-your-face attitude was making it hard for Kober to play his role. Kober is no Laurence Olivier, and it seemed like he was having a hard time staying in his role as a Jesus-like character with Peregrym relentlessly heckling him.

At least we got a break from Sam the singing vampire.
