Loafer review :

An unemployed youth (Anil Kapoor) bashes up lackey of a dreaded goon (Mukesh Rishi) and lands up in jail. The bastiwallas persuade him to stand in election against the corrupt politician (Gulshan Grover) patronizing the said goon. The loafer youth wins the election and teaches the villainous brigade a lesson..

Boney Kapoor made this low budget quickie as compensation to distributors who lost heavily on Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993). The film was sold to them at cheap price and they made a decent profit on their investment. Loafer was remake of some South movie and was originally titled Mawaali MLA. It had some cringy comedy scenes like a lusty Kunika falling all over semi clad Anil Kapoor. The Juhi Chawla bathing scene was lifted from Kimi Katkar's bare act in Kala Bazaar (1989). Even that film had Anil Kapoor as the hero.
