Angel: I Will Remember You (1999)
Season 1, Episode 8
8/10
One of the best episodes of the whole series.

Warning: Spoilers
It starts out pretty slow, with Whedon making a little fun of the Buffy/Angel angst. When he has Doyle and Cordelia completely left out of it. And uninterested in the big dramatic reunion, anyway. Then it turns to Angel becoming human. And this is where the heart wrenching moments begin. It's something fans have been waiting for years, and they make the most of it. By bringing some very satisfying scenes to the franchise. To end on a very heartbreaking and desperate tone, stripped of any shred of sarcasm and self awareness. Which gives the episode the dreaded, but rewarding send off it deserved. It's a naive little digression inside the Buffyverse, only it is done with taste and offers great acting from both leads.
