"Tell your friends that the threat of Carey Street is permanently removed"
12 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A story of adultery, attempted murder, memory loss, forgery, blackmail and bankruptcy crammed into fifty-five minutes. It works well with some good cinematography like shooting from low down, interesting angles and striking close ups. Some of the close ups are of the wondrous countenance of Kathleen Byron playing Lucienne who dominates the film. (Ms. Byron was one of those actors who was woefully neglected by the British film industry.) She is ably supported.by Hugh McDermott as the serious Francis and Peter Reynolds as the amoral Johnny. It is a low budget film but it is watchable to the conclusion.
