The Rendezvous (II) (2016)
5/10
Rather dull, but not bad

Warning: Spoilers
So, it's not interesting. I fell asleep watching it. Granted, I was sleepy to begin with, but, still, if it were interesting, I would have lasted till the end.

It doesn't aim high, which is good, you don't feel disappointed. The story is a little silly, but, other than that, OK, just enough stuff to not make it some Lifetime "just another day at the office" kind of movie.

Jokes are not good, but, are not just retelling of well known jokes, they are genuine tries at being funny, which is commendable, even if it doesn't really work.

Stana Katic again proves that she's not good enough actress to carry the whole film. She's OK, but, just barely enough, a better actress would make this into something (more) interesting.

The one interesting thing about it is that, while her role is not of an "action heroine", she actually does the action much better than most other actresses. When she runs, it looks good. Compare that to Brie Larson who looks ridiculous, and most other actresses don't look good doing it. Now, we do know that when she did try it, it didn't really work, but, there's certainly some potential there, unfortunately never realized (as if she was trying to hard and that's why it didn't work in her "action" roles).

I might have missed something in the middle of the movie, but, when I woke up towards the end, things were not better, except that there were some interesting sights to behold, like the temple carved into the mountain. Not beautiful or amazing, but, still, interesting.

If you're a Stana Katic fan, then, this is worth a watch. Or if you're sleepless and it has a similar effect on you that it did on me. But, otherwise, it's too bland to warrant your time.
