pretencious and silly

Warning: Spoilers
This movie tries to scare the viewer by creating a situation in which the main character finds himself fighting alone against real and unreal forces on an island with no means to escape. The main problem is that absolutely every bad thing that happens to him is a direct consequence of his unrealistic and unbelievable lack of will to live. He accepts a job from a person that calls himself his friend which he doesn't remember for some reason, discovers the job is located on isolated island and he can't swim, he has to chain himself to do the job - still goes with it. He simply lets a teenage girl to break his fingers and to shot him with a crossbow with 0 attempt of fighting back. Has an access to a phone but decides not to call the police even when the situation became really messed up. And the list goes on and on and on. Even the most stupid people have an instinct of survival. None of this would ever happen in the real life not because ghost don't exist, but because people like these characters don't. None of the motivation of any of them clear or make any sense. This movie doesn't make you scared, it leaves you wondering how isolated from the reality one must be to write such a script. The ending is also very weak and random. Why the mom? What's up with the rabbit toy and what is the problem of the crossbow girl? Why does she do whatever she does? No clue.
