Okay Special Introducing A One-Shot Rider
20 June 2021
This special is a nice case. Created when the Kamen Rider franchise was on hiatus after 1981's Kamen Rider Super-One, this special felt like it would lead to a new TV show, but instead, it would be done as a special, with the Kamen Rider series being in hiatus until 1987's Kamen Rider Black,

After a flashback clip telling about the Kamen Riders, from the first Kamen Rider to Kamen Rider Super-One, we soon get to the story, where Ryo Murasame, a college student, joins his journalist sister Shizuka on a flight to Brazil over reports that UFOs have been sighted in the Amazon. Only to be captured, and Shuzuka killed in front of Ryo's eyes for knowing too much. The evil organization, Badan, would execute Ryo and transplant his brain to a new body, becoming its newest battle cyborg. However, Ryo would remember who he was and what happened to him and his sister after a violent crash, and after escaping Badan, he vows to get revenge on Badan and its leader, Ambassador Darkness, leading to a battle where he teams up with the nine past Riders.

This is actually a good one-shot special. Basically keeping the recaps in the first moments, the special makes sure to focus on what matters: then original story. Ryo, as Kamen Rider ZX (ZX pronounced as zecross) is a neat idea, as he has a ninja motif, and has a fight scenes with two of the riders, thinking they are with Badan. Also, the action is good, and the final battle is well done.
