Overall, I enjoyed the episode but honestly the entire thing was a bit 'hit or miss' for me. The medical mystery just wasn't that compelling, but then on the back half of the episode it became an after-school-special about coming out. It just felt a bit like there were too many cooks in the kitchen?... Like they couldn't decide on a focal point for the episode.
There is a nice plot point at the end that sets up interesting possibilities going forward, so that should be interesting, too.
