Consort Xian gets her revenge for her family and jewellery. The melted copper show takes place but one of the hits is directed at Gao who burns badly. She doesn't want to scar and initially refused medicine. Physician Ye says that she will die in about ten days because there is melted gold in it which causes repeated infection. Gao dresses up and dances for the last time, ending with her suicide.
