Leverage: Redemption: The Mastermind Job (2021)

Best of the new season so far

This episode was really more in line with the original Leverage. Not because of fake Nate, although he really did add to the flavor of this episode. Somehow the characters were more - well - in character here after the season finally feels confident it has successfully intro'd the nkotb (plural) and phased Breanna into a less forefront and less combative role. I don't dislike her, but it took me a few episodes to forgive the writers for giving her those bigoted lines in the casino episode, and it seemed just too far-fetched for her to be coming up with all the best options for the jobs. I also feel they are trying too hard to make her think and act like Hardison, who we all know can't be replaced. Other than that, the season is living up to the original series in many ways but still loved the original best -- and that final episode clearly had Parker taking over, so I'm still looking for that aspect. But other than the poor makeup work on our aging stars, I love the additional talents Parker is exhibiting as well as the always adorable characteristics of Sophie and Elliot. Best of the new season so far.
