Clearly loses its focus
10 August 2021
Imagine your significant other leaves you before you get married, and now a year later you are forced to sing at their wedding! Awkward right?

Awkward is the best way to describe this loose plot. The pain and character growth of Erika (Christina Milan) being active in her ex's (Jay Pharaoh) wedding is as painful as it comes, yet the side love story element with her ex's older brother(Sinqua Walls) seemed unnecessary when it's treated like a side dish. The film seemed like it lost focus, they flirt from afar with the romantic element but it just doesn't stick; With more than enough musical scenes and a weak comical element to the genre of 'Rom-Com'.

The Musical scenes weren't forced but there were plenty and the film is casted well.

Verdict:

Not the best rom com out there, because the plot isn't strong, doesn't delver a compelling love story more like triumphed mature overcoming story after a break up. If need a cheesy movie to pass the time then check it out. If you are die hard rom-com fan, it may not meet your standards.
